Working as a Cordon Blue Chef 20 years ago in her family restaurant, our founder, Alison Dodd, realised that she couldn’t always get the great quality and variety of herbs she needed, therefore soon recognised the need for a good supply of fresh herbs to the catering industry, and this is how Herbs Unlimited began! She still runs the company today along with her son Philip, and her experience of being both consumer and supplier has created a company which is flexible to meet customer needs, but will never compromise on quality, service or value for money.
To develop the business further in 2002, Alison went into partnership with a local farmer, Trevor Bosomworth, in Sandhutton, near Thirsk and the business was incorporated as Sandhutton Growers Ltd. A new site was developed, which included 90 acres o field crops.
We specialise in high quality fresh cut herbs and baby salads. The polytunnels give us an extended season to grow our unique range of baby leaves and speciality herbs, and this is done to the highest specification using innovative growing methods and biological controls. Our dedicated growers are committed to producing crops in a natural and environmentally sensitive way they can.
To complement our summer season, we have a well established overseas supplier network of quality controlled growers with GLOBAL GAP accreditation as a minimum standard. The growers who we work with all share the same high standards and commitment as Herbs Unlimited.
We continue to be passionate about sticking to our beliefs and pride ourselves in providing great customer service with flexibility where needed, value for money and being consistently the grower, supplier and processor of choice for quality fresh herbs, specialist salads and niche products.
